Getting Better

We have so many pictures of Mike's side on the blog, I just wanted to post some of my own. The little old white haired lady is my mother, not to be confused with the other white haired lady who is not so little. She is my oldest sibling, of which there are six. Mom stays with us all winter long. She is not able to tolerate the cold too well anymore, and she was told she probably would not survive another serious bout of pneumonia since her lungs are pterry scared from previous bouts and radiation therapy. Any way, mom has been my nurse, and will continue unitl April 1. She doesn't do anything different than she already does which is to spoil Mike and myself when she stays with us. That's why Mike doesn't mind having her here all winter, that and she cooks too! Not that I can't, I just don't. We have no little ones, we both work full time, I fiugure he should help to prepare the meals alos, but he won't, so neither will I. So far it's a stalemate. We just don't eat unitl mom comes for the winter. Man are we spoiled, and yet I really don't apologize to anyone but mom for it. She says she loves to do it, in the summers, it's just her and my sister Kathy, who's retired military and living with her while she goes to school on her GI bill. Which don't be fooled, it doesn't cover the full cost. Any way, mom is pretty busy here and back in MI. She has friends and connections in both places. I actually think she's more active now than when my father was alive, at least she's out doing more, and home less. She's real sprie for an 82 y/o, looks good for her age too, doesn't even look a day over 75 to me.
Well, I'm up and around today, starting to feel a little too good, then I try to do things that are abog no-no. Like not wearing my back brace all the time, this is what has been bothering my back more than anything. I no longer have incisional pain, now they itch all the time, which is a sign of healing, annoying, but healing. The best chair for me is my recliner, but my butt gets sore from sitting, and my surgeon doesn't want me up walking a whole lot, because the fusion still needs to set in. At least I get to loosen the back brace when I'm sitting.
